Today is the start of a new chapter in my career. The company I had been working for, for the past three years, eliminated a number of positions yesterday. This was the second round of layoffs since an ownership change last year and unfortunately I didn't make it through this one.
The tariffs on products being imported from outside the US has hit a number of manufacturing companies hard, and so they are adjusting as well as they can. I wish my team the best in their future endeavors!
Although this kind of change in anyone's life can be viewed as stressful, I am endeavoring to be positive and put the time to good use. I am grateful I was able to take a vacation a couple of weeks back, to one of the most majestic natural parts of the US, and now I can focus on developing my skills for the next chapter.
What to expect from me going forward?
As I look for a new position, I will be investigating some of the newer AI and data analysis innovations that have come out over the past few years, and posting about them. Since last fall I have been passed certification exams for three techs on Microsoft's Azure platform, and will be looking more into that as well.
I'll intersperse other items that are interesting to me at least, and engage with people that come here. Thanks for stopping by, and wish me luck in my future!
